New Cable Carrier Drastically Reduces Particulate Generation for Clean Room Applications

A new clean room compatible cable and hose carrier, called KleanTrak^TM, has been developed to dramatically reduce wear and drastically reduce the accompanying particulate generation. The new carrier material also provides exponentially longer carrier life.

Physical testing results indicate a fifteen-time reduction in carrier wear and a similar reduction in friction generated particulate deposits. The ultimate goal of this new product is to eliminate the need for expensive air management systems for clean rooms, which are necessary, when typical dynamic carrier systems are employed.

Developed and introduced by KabelSchlepp America, Inc., this new carrier is constructed of a proprietary composite material that combines nylon, PTFE, silicon, heat stabilizers, and other performance enhancing additives. This material has been designed to minimize particulate generation associated with carrier bending and sliding. In addition to featuring this new composite material, this new carrier also features polished aluminum crossbars, which experience very little friction and generate almost no carrier related particulate. This new carrier will be tested for Classes 1 and 10 clean room certification.
