Non-Metallic
Cable
& Hose
Carrier Systems
Description:
Our
non-metallic carrier systems basically come in three general
configurations; mono-molded, modular molded and
modular extruded. All serve specific purposes.
Mono-molded
designs and sizes are the most basic style sold around the world due
to their ease of use and inexpensive cost. These carrier
systems or “chains” consist of rugged injection-molded links,
one snapped into the next. Often two parts are required per
link, the molded body and snapped-on cross bar that allow access to
the chain cavity (inside which the cables and hoses are placed).
Open (can view contents of carrier system) or enclosed (tube style
with content hidden from view) designs are available.
Most
of these mono-molded systems have integral glide shoes or surfaces
for long travel applications. Almost all have vertical and/or
horizontal internal cavity partitions to enable the design engineer
the ultimate in safe cable and hose management capabilities.

Modular-molded
carrier systems offer extremely flexible designs in an extensive
range of sizes that are widely recognized as the most advanced
carrier systems sold anywhere in the world. These systems
uniquely allow the customer the design flexibility to “shape”
their carrier system to [their] exact needs. More than 50,000
variations are possible for our modular carrier systems;
“Varitrak”.
These
systems were designed to easily allow for unlike materials to be
used and function harmoniously in harsh or the most extreme
applications.
The
Varitrak system consists of molded side-band links of varying type
and size that are either snapped or lock-bolted together. Two sets
of these side bands are then connected to each other using
reinforced nylon, aluminum, plated or stainless steel bars, rods,
sleeves or lids to form the cavity in which the cables or hoses are
safely managed. The selected design configuration depends
solely on what the designer requires for the particular application
in question.
Wide
ranges of innovative carrier cavity designs are available.
Standard cavity system designs with strong nylon bars or the most
cable friendly designs that use smooth aluminum all the up to the
innovative and patented systems that have all their cavity contact
surfaces made from an extremely slick bearing material that rolls!
Replaceable
gliding surfaces, that allow for inexpensive long-term operation and
quick replacement are readily available. This innovative
design dramatically reduced the overall cost associated to products
that simply burn/wear out on surfaces that experience friction and
heat during high speed, heavy and long travel applications.
KabelSchlepp offers these in varying materials from standard PA
through hybrid blends that include TFE.
Of
course open (can view contents of carrier system) or enclosed (tube
style with content hidden from view) designs are available.
All
such modular systems have vertical and/or horizontal internal cavity
partitions available to enable the design engineer the ultimate in
safe cable and hose management capabilities.

Extruded-molded
carriers offer extremely flexible designs in a wide range of sizes
with a unique twist. This revolutionary design answers almost all of
the most difficult design requests such as…
-
I
need a quiet carrier…
-
I
need a clean carrier…
-
I
need a carrier half the weight of any typical carrier now
available…
-
I
need a carrier system capable of handling extremely high
speeds…
-
I
need a carrier system capable of handling extremely high
accelerations…
-
I
need a carrier system that is too hyper sensitive to
misalignment…
-
I
need a carrier that can handle both rotating (twist) and
lateral movements…
KabelSchlepp
has developed such a revolutionary and patented carrier system that
answers all these needs and establishes another industry design
benchmark.
These
systems uniquely allow the customer the complete design flexibility
to “shape” their carrier system to [their] exact needs – a
fundamental KabelSchlepp philosophy – make our design flexible so
the customer design doesn’t need to be.
Since
this product group shares a great deal of technology with the
Varitrak series, more than 25,000 carrier and cavity variations are
possible.
The
Quantum carrier systems have extruded side-bands (strands) of
varying sizes with integral steel ropes for incredible tensile
strength. Two of these side-bands are then connected to
each other with reinforced nylon and/or aluminum bars, rods and/or
sleeves forming the cavity in which the cables or hoses are safely
managed. The unique Quantum side-band design all but
eliminates the “Polygon-Effect”. KabelSchlepp studied and
coined the “polygon-effect” decades ago. Essentially this
is what describes the typical bouncing (or hopping) phenomenon of
all linked carrier systems that happens when a link with a defined
pitch and radius travels around an arc. Thus, eliminating this
effect results in extremely smooth, quiet and clean operation.
Dramatic reductions in vibration and noise were measured.
An 18+ dba reduction from standard link carrier systems was
regularly achieved and measured.
Quantum
holds our title of being the absolute quietest carrier available
anywhere from anyone.
Wide
ranges of innovative carrier cavity designs are available.
Standard cavity system designs with strong nylon bars or the most
cable friendly designs that use smooth aluminum!
As with our
ground breaking modular-molded designs, when using Quantum the
selected design configuration depends solely on what the designer
requires for the particular application in question.
All
such modular-extruded systems have vertical and/or horizontal
internal cavity partitions available to enable the design engineer
the ultimate in safe cable and hose management capabilities.
